Turn off your mind, relax and float down stream
It is not dying, it is not dying
Lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void
It is shining, it is shining
Yet you may see the meaning of within
It is being, it is being
Love is all and love is everyone
It is knowing, it is knowing
And ignorance and hate mourn the dead
It is believing, it is believing
But listen to the colour of your dreams
It is not leaving, it is not leaving
So play the game "Existence" to the end
Of the beginning, of the beginning
Of the beginning, of the beginning
Of the beginning, of the beginning
Of the beginning, of the beginning

Dudenkoph!
While reading thru 'What They Didn't Teach You About The 60s' (Mike Wright, Presidio Press, 2001), I was surprised to find the following passage:
"Dude," which had come into fashion in the eighteen hundreds' Wild West, actually came from the German word dudenkoph, which means "lazy fellow" or "lazy head." In the 1960s some hippies believed it wasd impolite to call blacks "spades," so they came to be called "dudes." Today, any cat can be a dude if he works at it hard enough.
My thanks to Bob of the Bob & AJ show for giving me the moniker - it seems to fit, especially the lazy part...

If you're a first time listener, skip this dud and go back a few. For the faithful few, this was a bit constipated, but thanks for keeping me awake on the drive back from Sandbanks to Toronto. A few more unpleasant stories on life and death, but what the hell, ya can't win 'em all...

Believe it or not, the Scarborough Dude shares the stories of his three encounters with real ghosts on this 13th episode, spirits he met in Alaska, Nigeria and Japan. And to further destroy his credability, he even talks about the time he experienced astral travel in Point St. Charles, but chickened out. Oh ya, and some stuff on fatherhood too.
Music:
Is Anybody Out There- Pink Floyd - The Wall
Brilliant Adventure - David Bowie - Hours
Flying - The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour

If you've listened to any previous dicksnjanes podcasts, you should know by now whether or not this is your cup of tea, and if it isn't, please don't waste any more of your time. If you're still with me, my advice is to break this last one into bite size pieces, stopping for a break when you've had enuf rather than zapping forward looking for the good parts - cuz you won't find them. Then come back for more if/when you're ready. It does end on a happy note...
