If you've listened to any previous dicksnjanes podcasts, you should know by now whether or not this is your cup of tea, and if it isn't, please don't waste any more of your time. If you're still with me, my advice is to break this last one into bite size pieces, stopping for a break when you've had enuf rather than zapping forward looking for the good parts - cuz you won't find them. Then come back for more if/when you're ready. It does end on a happy note...

Especially enjoyed the section where you go into Takemi-san's - lots of happy memories for me there, and I only spent eight years in japan. If possible, please tell Takemi that rob in Singapore says hi!!
To paraphrase Curtis Mayfield, who used to say before every tune he played on his Sat. aft. jazz show on a Toronto station, "and we hope you dig it," --- I'm glad you're diggin' it.
See, now that was a definite improvement -- the intros help set the scene, and tie everything together. If you don't want to type show notes, how about an audio "table of contents" that you record last, and insert at the beginning of the show?
Thanks for the plug! Of course I listen to the show. Jeez, with our Tod Maffin feud all ironed out, there's no more animosity in Canadian podcasting, real or imagined. In any case, we weren't really offended, more bemused -- who the hell are we? It's not like we're "the media" or something. Our studio = my bedroom. I have some nice equipment and am a bit of an audio geek, but we're just two people doing a show, same as anyone else. We're all new to this, and I'm just glad to see more independent shows in the area with different points of view.
Too bad you missed the T.O. podcast meetup this week; it was the closest thing to a local "community" aside from Adam and I hanging out a few times. Agreed: cross-linking/plugging is definitely important. But yeah, we'll meet up sometime once you're back in the country! In the meantime, pictures would be cool... Sounds like you're seeing some amazing sights!

Oddly enough, Curtis Mayfield came up in the audiobook I was doing at CNIB this week...
Boy oh boy - what a treat to get feedback. I feel just like a dog getting a nice little pat on the head - and am going to suck up for more! Mr.Molar Radio, I'm probably going to do a complerte about face on shownotes- but it will all depend on Apple's latest version of iTunes, and how easy they make it. I see the value - my only fear is it's even going to take up even more dam time! Buy hey, if it'll keep my listeners happy.... pant pany pant - good doggie....
Loved this episode of the Dicks and Janes Podcast. I found it interesting to hear you explain a bit what the economic bubble was like when you were there. I've started recording a few segments as you do, with my iPod and an iTalk. My ideas for a show may be similar to yours, but i defer to the master (I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy...as an aside, in Steves Jobs' keynote this week he comapared podcasting to, among other things, Waynes world for radio). The pictures were a treat and I must find a copy of Zen Soup. You may be interested to listen to some "podcasts" by an artist musician named momus. He records talking into his digital camera as he walks along wherever he may be in the world, often in Japan. Keep up the good work.
"Well done, suh. You have actually tried." I laughed out loud at least five times. A wonderful pastiche of the train and the rain, the mellow and the merry, the affirmative moment and the infirmative thought. You have found your apotheosis, Sourdough Dude. Hey, "in a moment, there is time ...", eh. Best wishes. (Perhaps less bellyaching about the process -- sort of like writing about sitting down to write.) Best wishes.
