IMO Gordie Lightfoot's Canadian Railway Trilogy is far more representative of canadiana then The Log Driver's Waltz, which reminded me of The Tennessee Waltz.
Good point Mr. F - I may choose to use that in a future class, although perhaps The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald might be a more apt follow up, in keeping with the water theme.
Hi Dude I hope everything is okay w/ you and Fam. Being a Dad is a world of anxiety, hope, regret, joy, fear, pride etc....but no question about it I would not trade the experience for anything in the world. My oldest will be 21 this week and I will be driving up to Columbia Mo. to buy him clothes for his B-Day and have a drink(or two) with him to celebrate. My other one is asleep on the couch behind me having exhausted himself skateboarding all day. There are psycho-Dads that push their kids hard and develop an adversarial relation with their kids, but bless your heart, you pointed them in the right direction by letting them discover their personal joys in life in their own ways. That is what I did w/mine and years from now I hope for positive results??? Dude, you're doing okay, you are there for them, you are their foundation. Jimmy G. Eureka Missouri BTW I enjoy your podcast. I discovered you a few years back while listening to Chub Creek.....Love the Canadian view of the world.....stay strong!

Except it is about an American ship bound from Superior, Wisconsin to a steel mill near Detroit. It did however sink in Canadian territorial waters.
