DicksnJanes #80: Weltschmerz

The Scarborough Dude tries to find some of that Christmas spirit, but comes up a little short...

Music:
God's gunna cut you down - Johnny Cash
I Love You, You Big Dummy - Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - Lick My Decals Off, Baby
More Than This - Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music - The Best Of Bryan Ferry + Roxy Music

More Than This

I could feel at the time
There was no way of knowing
Fallen leaves in the night
Who can say where they're blowing
As free as the wind
And hopefully learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
More than this - there is nothing
More than this - tell me one thing
More than this - there is nothing
It was fun for a while
There was no way of knowing
Like dream in the nigh
Who can say where we're going
No care in the world
Maybe I'm learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
More than this - there is nothing
More than this - tell me one thing
More than this - there is nothing

I was very sad to see the state of Ben's too, and posted about it in November. http://kcol.blogspot.com/2006/11/bens-goes-bye-bye.html

I find it very difficult to get into Christmas without the snow... in Montreal we have nothing on the ground , the temperature hovering around 5 deg C.

Hope you and your family have a good holiday regardless!

Thanks Krash! I encourage D&J listeners to visit the link and see for yourself - be sure to click on the photos to get the full sized image of the corner of Maisonneuve and Metcalf - my old Sir George Williams U. stomping grounds! How I crave a Ben' smoked meat now!!!
