Thanks for the episode, Dude. If you are having issues with your hearing, do something about it, as you will become more and more 'distanced' from what is going on, and will naturally want to withdraw from most social occasions. I know this to be true, for I have been wearing hearing aids for about15 years and am glad of it. At age 72 it seems a bit odd that you are concerned that wearing the aids will mark you as an old person....I began in my 40's and never gave a shit what other people might think or say...and 99% were supportive and pleased that I had chosen to stay involved rather than avoid all contact for fear of seeming a bit stupid when I missed aspects of conversations, etc. Further, nowadays you have more possibilities to discover solutions that don't cost thousands of dollars.

Message me if you need any more insight from an experienced user of hearing aids!!

Thanks Rob, and apologies for not replying sooner. Point taken - I hear you! I'm sure I'll notice a world of difference when I finally get the hearing aids. I'll let you know when I get tested.
