Dicks & Janes Podcast #38- Dead Beat Edition

The Scarborough Dude does his best to stick to one topic, without the help of his sidekicks, and learns a lesson; it's no fun if it's no fun...

Music:
Birdbrain - Allen Ginsberg - Holy Soul Jelly Roll
Subterranean Homesick Blues - Bob Dylan - Biograph
CIA Calypso - Allen Ginsberg - Holy Soul Jelly Roll
Charlie Parker - Jack Kerouac - Blues & Haikus

Hey Dude, loved the "dead beat" edition of your show. I should learn a bit more about Ginsberg, I only ever read Howl. But I love all those guys. I ouggta dig out my Kerouac CD collection. I love those American Haikus. As for your shows being numbered, that's life, isn't it? Everything is temporary, and if you can touch a soul here and there along the way, excellent. And that's what your doing man. Just do it 'til you can't no more.
P.S. There is a great song about Neal Cassady by the Washington Squares, if you're interested, let me know somehow and I'll send it to you. Peace.

Hey Keith - glad you liked the show - and good to know there are more Beat fans out there. I've never heard or even heard about that Washington Squares song about Neil Cassady - would LOVE to get a copy from you (dicksnjanes at rogers.com). And thanks for the comment - it means a lot!

Hey S-dude

Good show! I learned a fair bit of stuff I didn't know about Ginsberg...that song by him that you played was quite amazing in its scope of "targets"...
Keep up the good work!
