Re: having a celebration at home: boiling things down to one factor almost always oversimplifies things, but consider this: do you like having company? Does it suit you to be the host as well as the guest of honour?

Good questions Milan, and I'm still chewing over the answers. Don't want to paint myself into a corner, but feel the need to do something to push back against what to me (foolishly) is symbolic of being officially old.
