I went to see Leonard Cohen when he toured in the 90s. To be quite honest, I wasn't a fan, and went because I was seeing a guy who was maybe (still is, I think) The Biggest Leonard Cohen Fan Ever.
And I was blown away. Completely and utterly blown away. He was humble and charismatic and there was just such magic going on.
I may not be the biggest fan ever, but I'm a fan now. :-)
And on another of your subjects -- went to see my niece perform as part of a mass choir for the K-W Kodaly festival. The kids were amazing, and I was in tears through the whole concert. My niece was so happy, it was infectious.
Remind me, Dude, to introduce you to one of those "decent, f*cked up people" you were mentioning in this episode. He got fried in Montreal...moving to Toronto.
