by Peter O. Whitmer with Bruce VanWyngarden
Still no comments? Come on people, the dude's only got two shows left. (I bet he'll be back or Prick will). Dude, you are SOOOOO funny, I'll certainly miss you. Enjoying all the mediation talk at the moment - what a worthwhile thing to do. I always listen to you while I'm ironing. And don't forget ... the ladies loooove it when the dude gets all sexed up! ;)
Hey, that's a great book. It's being re=released in paperback, you know.
I'm assuming that's the real you who posted a comment on my DicksnJanes blog, and if so, Im quite excited. I am just a few pages away from finished Aquarius Revisited, a book which I've throughly enjoyed and mentioned several times on my rambling podcast. I've wondered about your role in this, but guessed that Peter Whitmer just needed help with the writing. I don't see any other mention of you in my edition. (paperback 1st Citadel Underground Edition)
I'd love to know about what part you played in getting this book out, so if you have a moment, please email me.
I have “Aquarius Revisited” on my Google Alerts and I just decided to check out who had mentioned it. Then I thought you might enjoy a little comment from one of the co-authors. Peter Whitmer was/is a psychologist who fell into a relationship with Tim Leary, which led him to the other characters. I was the editor of the now-defunct Saturday Review Magazine and ran a heavily edited version of one of Peter’s interviews in the magazine. Peter had incredible access to these icons. So we hooked up and I took his transcripts and notes and we worked on the book together. I’m amazed that people are still reading it. And even more amazed that it’s being reissued this summer. I’m now the editor/editorial director of an alternative weekly, the Memphis Flyer. (memphisflyer.com) I also write a weekly editor’s column. Glad you’re enjoying the book.
