Dicks&Janes Podcast#8

Forced myself to take care of some business before posting this one - hope it's worth the effort. A little of this, a little of that, some talk, some tunes - all Canadian, BTW - so just listen eh...

The tunes...
Home - Stephen Fearing - O Canada
Gymnopedie No. 1 - Erik Satie - free with Post Cereal (background)
Children Of The World - Willie Dunn - Here And Now (Disc 1)
Malaria - Michael Ferguson - courtesy of the artist
Liquor & Whores - Bubbles - The Trailer Park Boys
Voyageur - Bill Hilly Band - O Canada
L'eau Et Le Vent - Danielle Martineau - Here And Now (Disc 1)

No glitches this time - and yes, you can actually hear the loons calling...

Indeed-this was most enjoyable. I especially liked the end part where you describe the lake, we hear the loons and then the big finish with the gorgeous Quebecois musique- magnifique!

Enjoyed podcast 8, great music, could not help whirling around in my office chair to the music, never thought my chair could move so well! Great fun. Thankyou..lots of effort and time to persist with this stuff

Found your podcast courtesy of Terrance over at Kobe Beef and I think you show is great! I've been thinking I need to find some CanCon in the podcast realm and I'm glad to find someone close to home(I'm in Toronto). I'd like to do a podcast myself and I might try your idea of using my ipod and an iTalk to get started. Those zen quotations were great as well. You have great taste in music, books (love the beats) and philosophy. Since the introduction of podcasting, I've found many kindred spirits. Keep up the good work!

Well Keith - you've reached all the way to Tokyo, and made my day! I've been silently hoping there'd eventually be someone out there who'd find me and maybe appreciate just a little what I'm trying to bring together! Thanks for the feedback- it really meeans a lot! If I had a prize to give away, you'd get it - but stay tuned anyway, just in case...

I think of you as having invented podcasts, but I guess you didn't. They seem a perfect medium for you, or you for them.

Of course each one is a creation, reflecting your personality - real, and fluid.
It takes your creativity, and no small amount of work, I think.

Great French music.

#8 was a gem... I had been discussing the possibilty of being homesick for places one had only visited, like Tokyo. So, knowing the Dude's themes (Dudian Themes?) I settled down with a Sapporo (when DID Sleeman's start brewing that in Guelph??) on a back porch several miles west of Scarborough one hot evening. The music selection blew me away... and who knew he had such a complete Beat library?

Dude, you're part of my regular GO Train commute which, in case you're wondering how long to make your shows, is about 55min. to Union Station.

By the way, where can I buy Suntory (12 year) in Toronto?

Cheers,
-homesick for Tokyo
